Last week on Twitter, I asked which actor/actress you would like to see me do a full watch through of their filmography and write a quick review on each film. There were 11 names received in total, I plugged them all into a randomizer wheel, and the winner was Margot Robbie. So, we will embark on a watch through of her entire filmography and I will aim to have a watch through review up weekly. The first film in the Margot Robbie filmography watch through is Vigilante (2008).
Title: Vigilante
Director: Aash Aaron
Runtime: 1 hour 30 minutes

Alex (Kazuya Wright) seems to have it all. He is a successful businessman and is about to propose to his girlfriend Cassandra (Margot Robbie). Things quickly spiral out of hand as he is attacked while Cassandra is raped and murdered. From then on, Alex only has one thing on his mind…vigilante justice.
Alex dumps everything he has (physically, mentally, and financially) into obtaining the necessary hand-to-hand combat training in his pursuit of justice. Nothing is at it seems though. The attackers, well they happen to have organized crime ties.
Very mild spoiler territory after the trailer…
Written and directed by Aash Aaron, Vigilante (2008) is an Australian film that had an estimated budget of $1.1million, according to IMDb.
The premise here is ripe for a fun vigilante action film. Unfortunately, what we got instead was a slog of training montages and awkward acting.
Now, my saying is that “Everything deserves at least one viewing” and I am happy to say that I have sat through my one viewing of Vigilante (2008). It is a rough 90 minutes to get through. The editing is choppy. There is poorly mixed music inserted where it is not necessary. To make matters worse, each actor in each scene seems to be in a different movie than the other people in the same scene with them.
But what about Margot Robbie? Well, her character, Cassandra, lasts about 19 minutes into the film. After she is raped and murdered you only see her appear in Alex’s flashbacks. During her time on screen, we see her react to a proposal, yell at some “kids”, and try to fight off her killers. Not a huge role, not a lot to chew on, but keep in mind that this was her film debut.
Have you seen Vigilante (2008)? If so, what did you think of it? Let me know in the comments below or by reaching out on social media.
So, what is next? Well, if you look on IMDb at Margot Robbie’s filmography, it should be I.C.U. from 2009. However, that film is not readily available to stream, rent, or even buy. So, we will be skipping I.C.U and going to her third film credit About Time (2013). If you have not seen it yet, you have until next Monday when that post will go live.
